"Me And My Family"

Nana Totem Wolfe's life experiences have inspired, shaped and informed her art. She was born, the second of three sisters, in a quite enclave of frenetic Tokyo. Her father was American born but as a young man made his way back to Japan after a harrowing experience in a World War II Internment camp. He was on to become a NHK Radio personality. Nana's most vivid recollections revolve around her attendance and fierce friendships at an international school in Tokyo populated by diverse student body representing many nations and economic backgrounds. Her first love was sports; She played volleyball, basketball and was on the track and field team. Music was a passion, always the rebel; she loved Heavy Metal and played her favorites on guitar. In her teens she felt the calling of art, the perfect means of expressing a unique outlook on life. She came to the U.S. to obtain an art degree from Parsons School of Design. New York City is now her home and she's lived in many of the street culture like so many of her fellow artists. She now resides in tree-lined Park Slope Brooklyn in a brownstone with her native Brooklynite husband.
